Before and after his famous “Grounded Sun” (1971), the sphere was one of the shapes that would continually grasp Kožarić's attention. “Sunday”, identical in shape and similar in size, but completely different in meaning, was modelled completely white in 1975. “Grounded Sun” in its original version was placed in the middle of the city crowd, on a traffic embankment near the Croatian National Theatre where, guided by the principle of chance, he decided to ground the celestial body. “Sunday” meant a completely different situation – an enclosed space where the observer could come experience the gentle relaxation of timeless peace. Golden and white, two large, but adjusted to human scale, objects were shaped into existence by Kožarić by naming them –suggestively infusing ideas into the shapes.
