Through the gaze of the sculptor, a brief moment of equilibrium of a man taking a shower, balancing on one leg and holding the other to, presumably, wash away the remaining river mud of the Sava public bathing area, becomes an experience quickly translated to the sculptural form. The delicate spiral lines in spatial continuity suggest a tense static of balance and vivaciousness of movement. The quickly made model of the “Bather” was noticed at an exhibition in Dubrovnik by noted French art critic Lassaigne who invited Kožarić to Paris where he would begin a new phase in his creative life.
