The village of Potamia is built on the slope of Mount Ypsarios, between Theologos and Panagia, where a small river once flowed as a border between the two, hence the name of the village. The village dates back to 1363. Today, on the site of the old primary school, there is the "Vagi Museum". "Arsanas" in Skala Potamias also functions as a folklore museum.
